Quintã Schist Path

 

The PR3 "Azereiro Route" is a circular route that starts and ends at the former Primary School of Quintã.

This route will take you along small farms, followed by a forest area made up of pines, eucalyptus and strawberry trees.

You can also enjoy the Albufeira de Castelo de Bode, against the background of the River Zêzere.

The village of Moinhos da Ribeira with its submerged windmills is another must-see.

The Azereiro, an indigenous species also known as Loureiro de Portugal and Gingeira Brava, is a rare species in Portugal, which is included in the vast list of endangered species, being one of the species to be observed.
