The practice of physical exercise and health care are increasingly valued, and the search for outdoor spaces and contact with nature is at the forefront.
We are going through a period of great uncertainty, but we are sure of one thing: When you get through this phase, this is the ideal place to avoid large crowds and boost your immunity!
Combined with the natural beauty of the region, there are several outdoor activities you can do with your family, your significant other, or even alone. Get in the car and head here, where you can breathe fresh air and relax from the daily routine that is sometimes stressful and tiring.
In this region, nature is present at every step. So you can’t miss the Shale Trails. Hiking and short-distance routes that begin and end at the same point in the villages. In the past, shepherds, millers, farmers, and prospectors used these paths to carry out their work. These routes are signposted and present different levels of difficulty, all marked so that you can do them independently.
There are also, for the more adventurous, some trails that allow you to be in contact with Nature in its purest state. For running or biking, there are 4 trail routes (Vulture Trails, Ultra Vulture Trails, Mountain Villages Route, Kings’ Forest Trail) totaling 90km of trails with 4 levels of difficulty.
To relax, have fun with your family, or practice water sports, you have several river beaches, such as the Cabril Reservoir River Beach. Here you will have the opportunity to canoe, kayak, and even take boat trips along the Zêzere River. At the Mosteiro River Beach, you can enjoy the tranquility of nature and go for a swim. Surrounded by green spaces and bathed by the Pera stream, it benefits from a good body of water with a small waterfall as well. These are two options, among many available, where you can spend quality time with your family.
