Known as the “Portuguese Route 66”, National Road 2 (EN2) is Portugal’s longest road. Starting in Chaves and stretching for approximately 737 km to Faro, it has become a landmark tourist route of both national and international significance.

The EN2 passes through 35 municipalities, crosses 4 mountain ranges and 11 rivers, and travels through the heart of numerous towns and villages. Along the way, visitors can enjoy a remarkable variety of landscapes, from the vineyards of the Douro Valley and the vast plains of the Alentejo to the beautiful beaches of southern Portugal.

A stop at Hotel da Montanha is a must. Located at kilometre 328 in Pedrógão Pequeno, the hotel offers access to breathtaking scenery, authentic cultural heritage, and a rich gastronomy rooted in centuries of history.

In all participating municipalities, visitors can purchase the EN2 Passport, allowing them to collect stamps and commemorate their journey along this iconic route.
